Mobile App Development

Mobile apps for iPhone and Android users.

We build apps for customers and field staff, either natively for each platform or from one shared codebase. We also handle the back end and the app store release process.

Built for iPhone and Android, fast and easy to use.

Notifications and live status keep users informed.

A secure back end links the app to your data.

We publish to the app stores and ship regular updates.

How we deliver

Four stages, each ending with something you can see and review before the next one starts.

01

Define

Agree the users, the key tasks and which platforms and devices matter.

02

Design

Create and test interactive screen designs on real phones with real users.

03

Build

Develop the app and its back end, testing on a range of devices as we go.

04

Release

Submit to the stores, track crashes and usage, and plan regular updates.

Guardio

Cloud-based camera monitoring is slow and costly, and sends private footage off the premises.

Edge AI security with mobile app alerts

What we built

  • A complete security system on a small, low-power AI device
  • Face recognition, person detection and intrusion detection on the device
  • Alerts sent to a mobile app
What it changed

The models were optimised to process 100 frames per second on an NVIDIA Jetson Nano, so alerts are instant and footage stays on site.

Technology: NVIDIA Jetson Nano, TensorFlow Lite, TensorRT, Python, C++

Also delivered: NetAuto number plate recognition, Urban Guard traffic monitoring from aerial video, LiDARView 3D mapping and Trackzilla sports tracking.

Delivered by Hoki and its engineering partners. Product and client names belong to their owners.

Frequently asked questions

Should we build native or cross-platform?

Cross-platform suits most business apps and means one codebase to maintain. Native is better when the app relies heavily on device hardware or needs the smoothest possible performance. We recommend one after understanding your app.

Do you handle App Store and Google Play publishing?

Yes. We prepare the listing, screenshots and privacy details, submit the app and respond to reviewer questions. The app is published under your own developer account so you keep control of it.

How is the cost decided?

It depends on the number of screens, platforms, integrations and back-end work. We agree a price after discovery, and often suggest a smaller first release so you can learn from real users before adding more.

Will the app need updates after launch?

Yes. Apple and Google release new operating system versions every year, and apps need testing and updates to keep working. We offer support arrangements that cover this along with fixes and new features.
